Watchbill vs. TrackTik and Silvertrac — an honest comparison
An owner who had just sat through a TrackTik demo put it to us like this: “It’s a lot of money and a year’s contract. What do I actually give up if I go with you?”
Fair question. Here’s the same treatment we gave Connecteam: what they do well, the arithmetic, what we don’t do, and the questions that decide it.
One thing to know first. TrackTik and Silvertrac are both Trackforce products now. Trackforce’s site says it “is now home to TrackTik, GuardTek and Silvertrac” — the old silvertracsoftware.com redirects there — and the two products are pitched at different sizes of company. TrackTik calls itself “the end-to-end platform for security operations” and its page is written around scaling “from 50 guards to 5,000”; Silvertrac’s page leads with “No contracts. No hidden fees. Easy monthly payments.” and a personal success manager. If you’re comparing Silvertrac against TrackTik, you’re comparing two products from one vendor, with one sales organization. That’s not a knock on either product. It’s just worth knowing before the call.
All prices below were checked on September 30, 2026. Neither product publishes a price list — TrackTik’s pricing page says pricing is “built around your site count and the modules you run,” and a specialist follows up with a quote. The dollar figures here come from third-party listings, which can lag the vendor by months. Treat them as order-of-magnitude and get a written quote.
What TrackTik and Silvertrac genuinely do well
Taken from their own pages, because that’s the fair way to do it.
TrackTik is built for scale. Its page describes contract and billing automation with direct ERP integration; payroll preparation for “complex pay rates, blended OT, and multi-region compliance” with two-way sync to ADP, Paycor, QuickBooks and Sage Intacct; “AI-assisted scheduling with auto-fill for no-shows, OT alerts, and live attendance visibility”; a dispatch module with “automatic nearest-officer matching,” SLA timers on every dispatch, warning thresholds per status and job types with per-task reporting; business intelligence with custom dashboards and vendor benchmarking; a “fully documented REST API with real time webhooks”; and 55 languages across 50+ countries. The page’s own framing is “scale from 50 guards to 5,000 without adding back-office headcount,” and “typical time to launch is 6 to 8 weeks.”
Silvertrac is the one pitched at smaller companies, and its page leads with what property-patrol and HOA contractors buy: parking management with “warnings, violations & repeat-offender lookup,” daily activity reports “built for you, hands-free” from the officer’s tours and issues, mobile patrol with “optimized routes,” location-based dispatch, a client portal with summary reports, and “direct access to a personal success manager.” Terms, per the page: “No contracts,” “No hidden fees,” “Easy monthly payments.”
These are real capabilities. If your business needs them, nothing below changes that.
The arithmetic, for a 25-guard, 6-site company
TrackTik is licensed per site, not per guard. The most-cited third-party figure — from Connecteam’s review, updated October 2025 — is $78 per licence per month, one licence per location, a one-time setup and training fee of about $1,404, and a 12-month minimum. Six sites is 6 × $78 = $468/month. Year one, with setup: $7,020. And since modules are priced on top of the site count, a configuration that includes billing or dispatch may land higher. Ask.
Silvertrac is priced per active mobile device. Capterra, GetApp and Software Advice all list $249/month for up to 10 devices. If you run a phone per post, six devices fit inside that tier: $249/month, $2,988 a year. If all 25 guards carry the app on their own phones, that’s above the listed tier and none of the listings show that price. Some listings mention setup fees; Trackforce’s own page says no hidden fees, so take the vendor’s word and get it in writing.
Watchbill is $7 per guard per month, every feature, no modules. 25 guards is $175/month, $2,100 a year — or $70/guard/year prepaid, $1,750. No setup fee, month-to-month, cancel from the billing portal. Client portal logins are free and unlimited, so six property managers with logins cost nothing extra.
Two ways to read that. TrackTik’s setup fee alone is eight months of Watchbill for this company, and year one is more than three times the cost. Against Silvertrac at a phone-per-post, the gap is $74 a month — close enough that price shouldn’t decide it. The features should.

What Watchbill does — and where there is parity
The guard side is where the industry has converged, so let’s be plain: GPS, QR and NFC-verified tours, incident reports with photos, video and audio captured at the scene, an offline-first app, a panic/SOS path, in-app messaging, a client portal, a live map — parity. They have them. So do we.
What’s different is what happens around the guard’s work.
Shift status is earned, not declared. A shift goes to in progress only when a linked clock-in happens, and the grid shows missed, arrived late, left early and off-site from the actual clock and the site boundary. A token clock-in fifteen minutes before the end reads as late 7h 45m, not as a worked shift. See scheduling.
Presence and lone-worker welfare are in the base price. Site-boundary alerts, a “location stopped reporting” alert when the phone goes silent, welfare check-ins on a per-site interval with escalation, and a per-shift trail map. Parity with TrackTik’s lone-worker set on check-ins, panic and geofence alerts; TrackTik also lists a guard-initiated “watch mode,” which we don’t have. See presence and welfare.
The evidence model. Corrections to a submitted report land as append-only addendums with the original intact; custom forms are versioned; edit history is visible. This is the part that matters six months later.
Payroll export with provider templates — Gusto, ADP RUN, Paychex Flex, QuickBooks Payroll, plus generic — included. A file, not an API sync; more on that below.
And this week’s additions, each closing a gap we had named in our own analysis:
- Client invoicing built from reviewed time-clock hours and completed patrol visits: hourly and per-visit rates per client and site, a draft you can adjust, sent/paid/void, PDF, email with the PDF attached, a read-only copy in the portal. Parity with the core of TrackTik’s billing. No ERP sync.
- Client digests and incident emails without a portal login — a daily or weekly activity digest in the client’s own time zone, and an email the moment an incident report at their property is approved. Parity with Silvertrac’s issue notifications. See the client portal.
- Time off and availability — guards request time off, approval opens the covered shifts for bids, standing weekly availability, and a warning in the assign dialog if you override it. Parity on leave management.
- Dispatch response targets — per-priority assign and on-scene targets, per-client overrides, a live countdown on every call, warn → missed → escalate to owners, and a response-time report. Parity on SLA timers and escalation. See live ops.
- Parking — a vehicle registry per property the property manager can maintain from the portal, plate lookup with on-device plate reading from the phone camera, violations with photos and GPS, warning/citation/tow actions, repeat-offender lookup, and a tow policy per client. Parity with the core of Silvertrac’s parking module.
What Watchbill still doesn’t do
The list a knowledgeable buyer can fairly hold against us today. Accurate as of October 1, 2026 — we ship most weeks, so if one of these is the thing standing between you and a decision, ask us where it stands rather than assuming this page is still current.
- Integrations. No payroll or accounting API sync — the export is a file the clerk opens before importing, by design. No ERP sync for invoices. No public REST API, no webhooks, no SSO.
- Scheduling automation. No auto-fill of no-shows, no qualification-to-post matching, no pre-schedule overtime warning, no automated meal and rest break compliance per labor law. Time off and availability warn; they don’t fill.
- Business intelligence. Nine dashboard tiles and the grids. No custom dashboards, no warehouse export.
- Enterprise modules. No asset tracking, run sheets, pay rules that change by state or country, or vendor management, and English only. Deliberate; we build for English-speaking countries.
- Service. No assigned customer success manager. You get the product, the help pages, and us.
- Parking. No towing-company integration, citation payment collection, printable notices, or resident self-service guest passes.
If two or three of those are load-bearing for your operation, the rest of this post won’t change your answer.
The nine questions that decide it
- How many guards, sites and regions? Under 50 guards in one country, you’re below the range TrackTik’s own page describes. Above it, you’re not.
- Does payroll or accounting need a live API sync, or is a reviewed file fine? If your clerk wants to see the hours before they land in ADP, a file is a feature. If you sync three entities nightly, it isn’t.
- Do you need SSO, a public API or custom BI dashboards? If yes, that’s TrackTik, full stop.
- Should the schedule fill no-shows for you, or is an open shift pushed to eligible guards for bids enough?
- Is mobile patrol your main business? Route optimization matters more for a 20-stop route than for posted guards.
- Do you want a six-to-eight-week implementation with a named success manager, or a 30-day trial you set up yourself on a Tuesday?
- What happens to a report after it’s submitted? Run this at every vendor, us included. If a correction overwrites the original with no trail, you have a document, not evidence.
- Can you leave? What’s the term, what’s the setup fee, and does your data come with you?
- Are you on a tight budget? Say it out loud on the call, because it changes the shortlist. Every feature is in the $7 a guard a month — nothing held back for a bigger plan, no module to add later — with no setup fee and no minimum term, so a 25-guard company starts at $175 a month and can leave next month if we’re wrong. Then check the list above before you sign: cheap is only cheap if nothing load-bearing is missing.
When TrackTik or Silvertrac is the right answer
Be honest about which business you’re in.
Pay rules that change by state or country, an ERP that invoices have to flow into, a payroll department with blended overtime rules, a client who requires SSO or a BI feed, or a contract that stipulates 55-language support — that’s TrackTik. Take the demo and budget for the implementation.
A property-patrol company that needs towing-company integration, printed citations and resident guest passes today, and wants a named person to call — Silvertrac was built for that, and says so.
When Watchbill is the right answer
Everyone else — the company whose clients ask “was anyone actually in the lot Saturday night?” and whose owner wants invoices to come from the hours that were actually verified — is who Watchbill is for. The thing you’re buying isn’t a module list. It’s the ability to answer that question in two minutes, six months later, to someone who is not on your side, without a setup fee or a year’s contract between you and finding out whether it works.
And when what you get for the money matters. Scheduling, verified patrols, incident reports, live map, welfare check-ins, dispatch with response targets, invoicing, parking, payroll export and unlimited client logins are all in the one price — $7 a guard a month, with the setup fee, the minimum term and the per-module pricing left out. For the 25-guard company above, that’s $175 a month against a year-one TrackTik bill north of $7,000. The things we don’t do are listed above, in plain words. If none of them is load-bearing for you, you’re paying a lot for the privilege of not using them.
Your guards already do the work. The system’s only job is to make it provable.
Watchbill is $7/guard/month or $70/guard/year — scheduling with earned shift status, GPS, QR and NFC-verified patrols, offline-first incident and daily activity reports, presence and welfare alerts, dispatch with response targets, client invoicing, parking, payroll export, and free unlimited client portal logins, with every feature in one plan. See pricing or start your 30-day trial — no credit card.
Watchbill replaces both. Free 30-day trial with no card required.
